Representation of young mother and business owner who died during a medical procedure
Our client – a mother of two girls who operated a restaurant with her husband – died during a colonoscopy. Her anesthesiologist had failed to use required monitoring of her breathing and she stopped breathing during the procedure without anyone noticing. The case went to trial and resulted in an $8.3 million verdict in favor of the young woman’s family, compensating them for her lost wages, her services to the family, and their grief. It is believed to be the largest medical negligence verdict in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
