Argentine President Opening Files on Nazi ‘Ratlines’ that Trafficked Eichmann, Mengele

Representatives from the Simon Wiesenthal Center and its counsel, Jonathan Missner from Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner LLP, met with Argentinian President Javier Milei at the Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires on February 18, 2025.  Mr. Missner delivered to President Milei an official letter from Senator Charles Grassley, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, copied also to President Donald Trump. The letter requests the assistance of Argentina to locate records about Nazi ratlines and the entities that helped Nazi war criminals escape justice after World War II.  President Milei committed to fully cooperate with the SWC and the Senate Judiciary Committee, agreeing to open Argentina's archives for SWC for the first time in history.   

Missner's statement about this meeting: “President Milei’s historic decision signals his unequivocal allyship with the Jewish community while reinforcing his commitment to accountability and transparency at home.”
