Moe Vela is Of Counsel and Principal Advisor to the Stein Mitchell Strategic Solutions Center. Vela is a long time Washington insider. His leadership & counsel have long been sought by top corporate, political and government leaders around the globe. Moe holds the distinction of being the first Hispanic American to serve in two White House senior executive roles—as former CFO and Senior Advisor to Vice President Al Gore, and most recently, as Director of Administration and Senior Advisor to Vice President Joe Biden. Vela is also the current CEO of The Vela Group, LLC and MoeVela LLC, global business development and strategic consulting firms. In addition to Moe’s global network of relationships, his areas of expertise and experience include public policy, government relations, regulatory matters, complex business solutions, international relations and business development. Moe serves on the Board of Directors at Transparent Business, a SaaS company that provides transparency into remote workforce management, and he also serves on the Board of TruConnect, one of the nation’s leading Lifeline companies.
Vela is often a keynote speaker on topics ranging from politics, government and leadership to real estate and effective relationship-building strategies. Moe is a frequent contributor in publications such as the Associated Press, Fortune, Forbes, The Guardian, The Hill, Inc magazine and The Daily Mail to name a few. He is a frequent commentator on Fox, Fox Business, NewsMax, Yahoo Finance TV, the BBC, Australian Broadcasting, among dozens of others. He has been named one of the “Top 100 Hispanics in America” by “Hispanic Business” magazine and was twice named as one of the “101 Most Influential Latinos” by “Latino Leaders” magazine, as well as, one of Washington’s Top 300 Insiders by the “National Journal” and to the Powermeter 100 –the Washington area’s most influential individuals for Hispanic communities by “El Tiempo Latino,” a Washington Post subsidiary.
A proud Texan, Mr. Vela earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin and his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law.
