Julie L. Mitchell specializes in civil litigation, with emphasis on medical, automobile, and other personal injury matters. She has handled cases in the federal and state courts throughout metropolitan Washington, D.C.

Before joining Stein, Mitchell & Muse, she practiced insurance defense litigation with Miles & Stockbridge, PC in Washington, D.C. and McLean, Virginia. She spent nearly five years as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for Fairfax County, Virginia, where she prosecuted more than 350 criminal felony cases and handled thirty-five jury trials. During her years as a prosecutor, she lectured at multiple Virginia Continuing Legal Education events. She practiced criminal defense litigation with Schertler & Onorato, LLP in Washington, D.C., where she handled a wide range of misdemeanor and felony cases. She then returned to the practice of civil litigation, with the firm of Regan, Zambri & Long, PLLC in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Mitchell is admitted to practice in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from the University of Dallas in 1994, and received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1999.
